A Week In Instgrams...

Shame on me I know... It's been a week and thank you all for being soooo patient while I got back into the swing of things. I can't say I'm totally adjusted/recovered/organized and all but slowly and surely getting there! So as you all know by now, I finally got the i phone 4g Ive been swooning over since as long as I can remember and I just L.O.V.E. it!!! I have been playing with it non stop and if you follow me on twitter, you'll have seen my daily uploads of instagram (madewithlovejb) pictures. I'm a little obsessed for the time being and decided to switch things up for Thurday's London Love posts. Since a picture is worth a thousand words and now I can document my random daily activities, I introduce to you my lovely week in 21 instagram photos... enjoy!

1. hubs not amused by my new obsession 2. karl lagerfeld designer diet coke bottle 3. geeky glasses Ive been secretly wanting 4. orla kiley i phone cover 5. brightest running shoes ever 6. hubs famous curry dinner and lemon water 7. the spittafields market all seeing goat 8. starbucks is my morning bff 9. my local bunnies 10. loving this color story 11. a sleepy hubs 12. run to the beat half marathon game day face 13. our new love plant 14. oxford blues 15. the morning crew 16. a hard day's work of folding 17. run dem crew medal ceremony 18. hiding sleepy eyes behind oversized shades 19. enjoying the odd sun and warmth 20. book of the month 21. book club meetup pizza

So there you have it guys... a much more interesting way to see what Ive been up to. What have you guys been doing while Ive been away??? Coming up shortly, a more in depth mile by mile recap of the Run To The Beat Half Marathon with my thoughts, how the training went, and reviews on my new gear.

Awesome- Learning how to use my i phone and secretly loving that I can just google anything about it... how do you insert the sim card... no lie I googled that!!! The darling Orla Kiley phone cover I snatched up... I know it's not one of the ones I had posted about but was just as cute, cheaper, and quicker to get... braking in my new running shoes and imagining my lasts runs as if it were the day... race day to be exact... kind of like judgement day only sweatier... Judgement day, I mean half marathon day and having some of my run dem crew ladies for support... My black sister from another mother's birthday... lady we are getting old!!! Coffee because I am officially addicted... what I use to convince myself to get up and go to work... goofing off with coworkers and pretending mr. mannequin is my new boy toy... oh hubs will be jealous!!! Ali and Bryan celebrating two years of marital bliss... holly cow where has the time flown??? Meeting some lovely ladies at my first book club meetup and having a great time... even though I didn't quite finish the book in time... I can just wing it or use the cliff notes yea??? And the really warm and sunny weather we are having... I'm not complaining but just a little weary to let my guard down because I know as soon as I do, BAM winter will hit me in the face!!!

Awkward- Asking the sales clerk to take pictures of me in various glasses for hubs to see... ok now these in the black, now in the grey... Some of my coworkers... ok maybe just one to be exact... I wont name an names... Having to work the day before the race because I was so excited and over energized I must have scared off at least a few customers... that and that it definitely affected my race the next day... eight hours of standing, ouch!!! Mile 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, and possibly 13... The fact that I wanted to take all my clothes off and run in my underwear it was so hot!!! Having a customer admit to me that he must be annoying me because he just destroyed hours worth of folding... you think?!?! Deciding to grow out my eyebrows to the max before getting them threaded again... we are most certainly in the bushy eyebrow stage now folks... People coming into the shop and asking for all kinds of random directions... it's a store people not an information center... And successfully communicating with a couple that barely spoke any English... lots of hand gestures and over pronouncing of basic words were used...

***Today I am thankful for... well everything really, things have been going great and I have no complaints!!!***

Weekly Rendezvous...

So I fell asleep after work again and failed to post in time for Thursday... between working and running, I am left exhausted guys! But here for you lovelies is Thursday's London Love... because it is always better late than never right?!?!

Thur. 15- A lot of working... saying trousers... and making a mental list of things I want to buy now that I'm a working gal... to bad my love for fashion and shopping are bigger than my paycheck... le sigh!

Fri. 16- A big thanks again to IFB's Jennine Jacob for putting together the bloggers event Crystals & Crumpets in collaboration with Swarovski Crystallized. I can't even begin to describe to you all how lovely the venue, the fellow bloggers, the food, and of course the bling was! If only I could have more tea parties like that penciled into my agenda... oh and I also got my new running shoes that my feet so desperately have been needing!

Sat. 17- Finally a day off so hubs and I took full advantage of hanging out and catching up on what's been going on. I started the day by making us my very special eggs in a basket with some other yummy and healthy muchies to go along with it. Then we lounged around and watched movies online (yep thanks to the internet!!!) while a delightful storm poured down outside. After the rain passed, one of the most beautiful rainbows ever appeared just outside our window... too bad the billboard made it hard to enjoy.  And lastly, I took my new running shoes out for a spin... it felt like I was running on clouds =)

Sun. 18- Back to work for me today... one of the sucky things about working retail is that my a.) my schedule may vary from week to week and b.) working days may include some weekends and so my precious time with hubs is limited now. On the bright side, I do get to work in a very lovely shop that has nice customers (thank God!) and with some great coworkers... oh and the occasional drink after work is also a nice plus I might add =)

Mon. 19- Another work day... Do you need any help sir??? I can check in the back if we have your size... Yes that looks great on you... I would go with the grey... Will that be card or cash??? We only do store credit or exchanges... Can I get you to enter your pin please... Thank you and have a good day!!! (Below are the bunnies I get to see on my way to and from work... I love those guys!)

Tue. 20- One of the only days I look forward to for running after work thanks to Run Dem Crew!!! No matter how tired I am, no matter how achey my feet may be, I am always super excited to go out and run with my group. Thanks for the much needed energy guys!!!

Wed. 21- Geez you guys... I'm not sure what to say except that I was at work all day again... boring little old me hu? I promise once I get my I phone up and running, I'll be able to take pictures during the day so at least my work rants can be a little more exciting =) Below is the healthy dinner hubs and I prepared... oven baked salmon, grilled asparagus, and chocolate milk... delish!

Awesome- Making more sales at work and having it feel more normal than just pretend now... I do work here and I am a shop girl... Crystals, crumpets, and bloggers... enough said!!! Buying my second pair of running shoes... in three years! Guess I was long over due hu??? Rainy and lazy days in spent with best hubs ever... and lots of eating/movie watching involved too... Finishing my little organization project in the stock room organizing all of the new seasons denim in style and size order... and secretly loving every minute of it!!! Getting some more of my knitting done... and I can't wait until I can share more on this with you guys!!! Starbucks coffee... at least one a day... sometimes even two... Drinking out of jars... what can I say, hubs is rubbing off on me...Running with my slow hares ya'll and what?!?! And did I mention my new I phone... love Love LOVE!!!

Awkward- Getting used to my new schedule and being so tired I need coffee every morning in order to function now... em addicted much??? Having some male customers check them self out relentlessly when trying on clothes... geez and I thought us girls were bad! Walking into a room full of strangers and getting the courage to walk up to a group, introduce myself, and join in the convo... My feet in any all ways imaginable... Having a male mannequin twice my height fall over on me while I'm trying to dress itcrotch area... in front of customers... and my boss saying I look like I'm having too much fun with task at hand (no pun intended)... and lastly that gem I tweeted about... a customer coming in five minutes to closing and insisting on having to try on at least 15 different coats... helplessly watching her lug arm load after arm load into the fitting room and thinking this is going to suck if she doesn't buy anything... having my coworker (the Italian) walk by and literally freak out at her saying "oh no!" over and over as he grabs coats out of her hands... customer in shock almost crying and stating he is very rude and would rather not buy anything from us at all... and the Italian saying "better for us, you can leave"... I mean OMG!!! I just stood in unbelieving silence as the scene unfolded thinking "my hero!"
***Today I am thankful for my I phone!!! As if you guys didn't see that one coming!***

Girly Running Jams...

So I worked all day yesterday... came home to change for a Run Dem Crew night run... meant to post this after dinner... but fell asleep instead! My bad guys! So as a treat (or am I just disguising it as one?) you all get two posts today... while I prop up my oh so tired feet. I know Ive shared some of my favorite running songs with you all before, but since this is the week leading up to the Run To The Beat Half Marathon, I thought it would be appropriate to share my whole soundtrack for the special day.... yep that's right guys, a whole 2 hours and 20 minutes of tunes that will hopefully keep me inspired and keep me going to the finish line. Why that exact time you may ask??? Because that's the time I'll be aiming for and well now that Ive disclosed that info, I'm hoping it'll make me try even harder for it. It's a bit ambitious but either way, I'll let you guys know how it all turns out.

And so without further ado... my playlist of super girly, energetic, and moving tunes. Anyone else running the race this Sunday? Feel free to use any or all songs!!! Also comment any songs you recommend for running or working out in general. Oh and if you are local to London, come out and support us all!!!

these bad boys will carry me to the finish line...

Crystals & Crumpets...

Today was a very eagerly anticipated day for me... not only did I have the day off (horray!) but also... I got to attend my first ever blogger associated event!!! What's that you ask? Well in this case it was a very lavish tea party hosted by IFB's Jennine Jacob in collaboration with Swarovski Crystallized called Crystals and Crumpets. Originally today was scheduled to be London's very first IFB Conference but because of unprecedented issues, it sadly had to be cancelled. Lucky for us though, we were surprised by a last minute invitation to a mini mad hatter inspired tea party. Surrounded by all the glitz and bling imaginable in the Swarovski shop, we got to listen to a great group of guest blogger panelists and their helpful insights on how blogging can help shape your career. The afternoon also consisted of a mingle session where I got to meet a lot of lovely new UK based bloggers while sipping on champagne and munching on some yummy scones... what more could a girl ask for???

Carrie from WishWishWish & Lauren from Elle from A Bird In The Hand
Kari from East London Style
Michelle from Daisy Butter, Vicki from The Magpie Girl & Lily from LLYMLRS
It was so nice to finally meet some fellow bloggers... people who have the same passion for design, fashion, style, and blogging! The day was filled with a lot of tip sharing, inspirational stories, and blog info swapping. Here are some of the main points I took away from the panelists:

-Staying true to yourself and your blogs integrity when it comes to working with brands...
-Not being afraid to speak up and renegotiate terms such as payment and context...
-Advertising is one way to make money out of your blog and may not be for everyone...
-And follow your gut instincts when it comes to considering working with a brand...

All in all it was a great day... thanks again Jennine, IFB, and Swarovski for everything and I can't wait for the next blogging related outing!

***Today I am thankful for the blogging community I just happened to stumble on a little less than a year ago and all the wonderful things and people I have come to meet because of them***

I promise to post and explain a whole lot more on the clover ad shoot/food festival... twas tre fun!!!

Awesome- The in-laws driving up with a van full of goodies and getting to show them around the hood, that's right, my hood... Finally buying my first flowers from the market... because guess what hubs, I do have somewhere to put them now!!! Decorating our little nest and arguing over where things should go... hubs- "I need the big old mac next to the bed"... The Matrix, Transformers, Star Trek, The Green Lantern, and Captain America... guess that makes me a sci-fi geek now??? Free coffees from Starbucks Ben... I have now graduated to two cups a day and no it's not a problem people... The unexpected girls night that the boys insisted they needed a boys night... only to come crash our party later, not cool guys, not cool... Knitting... oh and getting tangled in yarn and coughing up yarn fuzz (or this that just awkward?)... Mexican Sista's Ep. 4 was the bomb diggity... the so called best frozen margaritas however was not... excuse me, I need more tequila flavoring in my ice slush please... Getting sick, losing my voice, and setting back my running training (that was meant sarcastically folks)... Another sarcastic one for you all... doctor saying no drugs will speed this up... grrr!!! Getting a job at a really swanky boutique seven minute walk from the flat... can I get that for you in another size??? Rejoining Run Dem Crew and moving up a group after my ever lasting cold... hello, I'm now a slow hare!!! First drinks after work in a very, very long time... Getting to be an extra in a Clover ad and eating all and everything you could possibly think of that goes with butter... no wait, its better than butter, it's margarine!!! Internet, internet, I now have I.N.T.E.R.N.E.T!!! Celebrating ten blissful months with the most wonderful man ever... so lucky am I =)

Awkward- Making out with hubs on our bed, looking out the window and seeing a man... oh hello guy that is putting up yet another billboard, how are you doing???Sounding like one of Marge's smoker twin sisters thanks to le cold... Trying to sing a sexy rendition of smelly cat... and getting caught by hubs... Mastering happy birthday mr. president in my new rasp of a voice... and getting caught by hubs again... didn't he marry a winner??? Coughing my lungs out at Starbucks and knowing that people must be thinking "ewe that girl is full of germs!"... Trying to talk to my mother in law with my voice squeaking in and out of hearing range... in a loud and noisy pub... Promising everyone the best frozen margaritas in London and ending up with slush... promise to read more reviews next time guys... When the boys crash our girls night... wait wasn't it you guys that wanted a night away from us??? Hearing myself say phrases such as "are you being helped?", "do you need that in another size?", and "have a nice day"... I feel like I'm acting in the newest ground braking role of my life... me as shop girl... Having a customer ask me to try on the same trouser in the same style, color, and size because she just wants to make sure it's not her size... um hu??? Saying trousers... and getting funny looks when I forget and say pants (undies over here)...Seeing a lot of white male ankles on accident through the fitting room curtains as I hand customers new sizes of things... it's called the sun you brits... When the director at the Clover ad films me playing with Rosie, hands me a very buttery crumpet, and says "ok now with the baby eating a bite"... sorry she's on a strict no butter diet... oh and she's four months old!!! And lastly but just as equally awkward... sitting downstairs on the floor of the "lobby" and knitting while waiting for the internet man to come... he's not getting away this time... and I got to meet some of our lovely neighbors for the first time too!
