A chevron (also spelled cheveron, especially in older documents) is an inverted V-shaped pattern. The word is usually used in reference to a kind of fret in architecture, or to a badge or insignia used in military or police uniforms to indicate rank or length of service, or in heraldry and the designs of flags (see flag terminology).
What I see is a trend with endless possibilities that can be translated across many mediums and altered to fit just about anyone's unique flair or desires. What can be seen as a bold design statement in a shocking color, can instantly become almost calm and soothing because of it's repetition in more subtle colors. You can use it as a focal point for instance by painting a wall or whole room in this pattern or simply use it as an accent to help spruce up areas in the home and office.
But it doesn't just end there... this trend has transcended into fashion too! I'm talking everything from women's to children's wear... even accessories! The chevron is definitely a fun way to add excitement to any outfit. Not ready for a whole ensemble? No problem! Try a clutch, a pair of heels, or even some bangles... there is something for everyone with this trend.
