A Royal Wedding...

4.28.2011

Alright folks, I've reached my blogging limits for today... almost caught up but not quite hu? Just realized there's this royal wedding happening tomorrow and hub's will be off of work fri. and mon. so I might disappear for a bit again. We have sooooo much to do at the new apartment so Im thinking my weekend will look a little like this: sleeping in, painting, getting some furniture, figuring out where the best place to check out the royal wedding is from, and hanging out with friends! I'm a little nervous to see how hectic London might get with all the hype... apparently people have flown from all over the world and are camping out to try and catch a glimpse of the royals... crazy! With all the hoop-la going on I will say this, I have never ever seen so many british flags and patriotism around here... feels like home (u.s.a.) So I bid you all farewell for now, and leave you with a british beat boxing video the hub's and his work did just in time for the royal wedding =)

Happy Royal Wedding!!!

Where I hope hub's and I will end up someday...
Inspirational words for any fashionista when she's doubting her style...
Such a good idea for bloggers looking for that perfect pic. to finish off your post...
Two great things combined... Earthday and Starbucks...
Easily one of my favorite lol reads that I anxiously wait for each month...

Reflections Of A 25 Year Old...

4.27.2011

*Disclaimer: this was written on the eve of my 26th b.day...

So tomorrow I turn 26... I have been struggling all year about what this means exactly and how I feel about it. Funy story about one of hub's granmother's, she started lying about her age so early on that to this day, no one knows how old she really is and refuses to be addressed as grandma! I can totally see this being me in the future. What is it about age that scares me so much? As I inch my way closer to 30 I keep feeling more and more overwhelmed with each birthday! I remember when 30 seemed ancient! So old and adult... the fun ends... and life starts going down hill doesn't it???

The truth is that I don't really feel all that more adult with each passing year... responsible? Who knows... mature? Not sure about that either... ready to call myself a full blown adult??? No way! And I think that what scares me the most about ending my 20's is society's (as well as family and friends) expectancy that we will soon start a family! Getting married was scary enough, although I must admit now nearly half a year into it, it's not bad at all! But I fear raising children is quite different than marriage. Becoming responsible for a whole person... yikes! I used to think that I'ld like to have kids in my mid 20's... that got pushed into my 30's... and now as that nears too, I'm afraid I still won't be ready.

When I started thinking about this year's birthday, I was determined it was a horrible thing and the only options were to either ignore and not celebrate at all (remove from facebook too!) or re-celebrate as 25 and begin my own version of confusion so know one would ever know my true age in the future... Now I know how ridiculous this all sounds, and trust me the hub's was right there to point it out... but what he also pointed out was all the good things that came with age and all the great things I've accomplished in just 25 years of life (he is my own personal cheerleader!).

And so I have re focused my thoughts and put all of my energy and effort into making this a great year! 26 means the first year of life with my husband who I love dearly... living in our first apartment together... the gaining of new family and friends... embarking on the next chapter of my career (hopefully soon!) in a new country... and many more things. I have this list of things I hope to accomplish before I turn 30, and surprisingly I have already crossed off more than I thought! I will be adding it as a separate page on my blog later to share with you all and keep me focused.

Sorry this was such a vent session... I'm sure you can relate with something or other that has scared you right? Alright then, with all this said, I have decided... as my facebook satus now says (so it must be true!) 26 is going to be awesome!!!!! So I off I go to celebrate with friends, family, and love ones with tequila shots! Cause I mean hey I may be facing 26 head on, but I'm still nervous ;)

Ate some delish english breakfast with the hubs... this is slowly becoming our saturday routine....

Cheered on the runners of the London Marathon on Sunday... more on that later...

Had fun playing with the white balance on my camera while choosing paint colors for our new home...

Got inspired by these beautiful yellow flowers I found on my walk...

And got to have sushi with little k!!!

Well that was that past week summed up in pics! We had some of the beale's brothers staying with us and little k visiting so always out and about doing something... this past week kind of merged into next week so more to come on tomorrow's update!

Jackie Meet Jackie...

4.16.2011

Alright so I know that it is definitely way past thursday... but I'm trying to get back on track so just bare with me for the next couple of posts... I bet they will be worth it!!!

The main focul point of this weeks catch up is... I met my other twin and her name is Jackie as well!!! Apparently we were out in the same pub on thursday and because we are both small, happen to look alike, AND have the same name, people kept coming up to her and talking to her as if she was me! Hilarious I know and it got even better when we finally met and got chat and take pictures together... she was a sweetheart and such a good sport =)

Jackie meet the other Jackie

Friday was pretty low key and luckily the end of the weekend... not that it means much to me, just that my few friends are finally free to play with me!!! Saturday I met up with my first friends ever in london from over 4 yrs ago... Shelby and Kathyrn whom I met when we were all living abroad a long, long time ago, both american! We met up for a proper english picnic since the weather was nice (meaning in the 60's) at Cheswick House and Gardens and it was lovely!!! Such nice weather, company, and snacks... we ended the day with a walk along the river and captured some beautiful views of the panorama!

the american's in london...

Sunday was filled with more browsing along Camden Markets, eating yummy food, and some shisha!!! Found some cool dresses, the hubs got some second hand jackets, and we even ate some donuts... shhh so not good for us! My absolute favorite part was trying my very first turkish wrap which was delish!!!!!!

And as you all may know (or maybe not) the majority of this past week has been mainly spent on my project, Sea Shore Fun, that is finally done!!! I did have a couple of flat viewings along the road and.... we got out apartment!!!!! More details on that in the very near future!!!

 How was your weekend spent???
